Technology Needs as We Return to Face-to-Face during Hybrid

For all grade levels (4th-8th grades), student technology should be brought back and forth to school each day.  Students, who are using a family-owned device (not a device owned by the district), will need to bring that family-owned device to school each day.  If you are in need of a district-issued device, see the article below for another opportunity to obtain a Chromebook through the BHS Information Technology (IT) Department.

Grades 6 - 8 - Remote to Hybrid Selection Survey - Action Needed!

For planning purposes, we are seeking your input to determine how to best meet the needs of our students and families when we shift to our hybrid model which is scheduled to begin September 29 for grades 6-8. These decisions are deeply personal and unique to each family.  We understand that they are not easy, but we believe that the flexibility we are able to offer will help ease some of the anxieties you may have.

We are asking ALL middle school families (6th/7th/8th grade) to complete this survey - we realize that you may have already completed an earlier version.  Fill out one survey PER 6TH/7TH/8TH GRADE STUDENT before it closes on Monday, September 21st at 11:59 p.m.  Without input from families, we cannot make appropriate plans for our learning community:

ZOOM Security Upgrade - Recent Action Needed

Our district has increased the security features associated with accessing Zoom. In a nutshell, teachers are required to set student meetings on Zoom to allow only students with a sapporoestate.com association into their meetings. This important change will keep unwelcome guests from entering teacher/student meetings.

正规体育投注Students must establish  their BHS Zoom License to avoid being locked out of their scheduled class meetings. Please have students click  to establish their BHS ZOOM license. Once students and staff have done this, they will not have to be authenticated further as it will happen automatically through the sapporoestate.com domain.

Drop-Off and Pick-Up Guidelines

Remember that students cannot be dropped off prior to 8:05 a.m. and cannot stay at school after 3:15 p.m. unless they are pre-registered for support services.

  • Do not let your child exit or enter the car from the inside lane – students can ONLY exit or enter from the sidewalk side of the driveway.

  • 正规体育投注Pull ahead as far as you can whenever there is room in front of you - there will be a staff member to direct you.

  • 正规体育投注Help your child(ren) be READY to get out of the car. If they need extra time to gather their belongings, to finish their breakfast or to say goodbye, pull ALL THE WAY forward to the end of the sidewalk or park your car in the inner lot.

  • Be aware that drivers behind you may have already dropped off or picked up children and are pulling into the exit lane.

Fall 2020 Math Grade-Up Placement Information

With the abrupt closing of schools in the spring, math placement conversations for incoming students in grades 1 - 7 were postponed.  This was due to the lack of data to make informed decisions.  As students are finally able to return to school in the hybrid model, we are planning to use a process similar to previous years.  However, we have had to adjust the timing from spring to fall.

正规体育投注 This communication is to let you know that grades 1 - 7 Grade-Up Math Placement testing will occur during the first week of October.  Decisions and parent notification will take place soon after.  If you want your child to be considered for Grade-Up Math placement, please contact your child’s classroom teacher/guidance counselor by Friday, September 25.
